Mommy Entrepreneur Website Names Scent-Sations Distributor: Mom of the Moment

Debbie Adrion-Molino
WAHM (Work At Home Mom) of 2, from Beachwood, New Jersey
http://www.mommycommunity.com/mom.html

When she started her business: She started her business one year ago.

Debbie Adrion-MolinoOccupation Description: She is an independent distributor for a company that makes a soy/veg candle and gourmet soy bath bars. She has always had a passion for candles and is very fortunate to have landed a business doing something she absolutely loves.

How to purchase her products/services: Products can be purchased by contacting her directly at 732-349-0099 or by emailing her through - www.getsoycandles.com. However, she recommends going to her website at www.getsoycandles.com to view the products first hand.

Do you offer any business opportunities? Yes. Info can be found at her website.

What is the best thing about your job?: "Marketing something that I truly believe in and knowing that I would use the product even if I were not in the business. Working with an incredible team and sharing in their success. I absolutely value the friendships I have gained through my partnerships. But I would have to say the best thing is being able to work with my 3 year old by my side as a working partner. That in itself is priceless."

Tip to share with other WAHMs: "Be realistic in setting your goals. Working with a toddler is very different then working with school age children. Be prepared for the obstacles, the challenges and even the road blocks. But if you are committed, creative, patient, and set realistic goals, you will achieve them. I had a business plan. But I learned quickly when my son was born colic, took no naps, as he grew required little sleep, was very active, was into everything and wanted to be a part of everything, much different than my first, I had to devise a new plan. I had to go against the grain and break the old rule of keeping your business separate. It was not an option for me, not if I wanted to succeed in my business so I created an office/playroom and made him the CEO and it works for me. I turned it into a positive learning experience, for us both, that will last a lifetime. My business continues to grow!

New Hometown Hero: 2LT Joseph Ruhl

joe ruhlWe received this letter from one of our distributors, Christy Eckert.

I have been a Distributor since December 2004, and Hometown Hero's  is one of the things that I love about Scent-Sations. I am emailing you because I would like to nominate a friend of our family.

I would like to nominate 2LT Joseph Ruhl. After being married for only 8 months, he was deployed in June 2004, and found himself saying goodbye to his new wife, his family, and his friends. He credits those same people, especially his wife Kim for lending so much support to him while in Iraq.

Since enlisting in the Army in October 1997, serving a year tour in Korea, as well as time spent in Fort Campbell, KY where he made the rank of SGT, and the reserves in 2002, 2LT Ruhl is currently in the Green Zone, the US Embassy in Baghdad. Where his unit provides all the Strategic (not tactical) communications in an international zone. This includes new and current installations. His current job title is the Company XO. LT Ruhl has also been recommended for the Award of the Bronze Star. I would like to include portions of his Narrative Recommendation for this award:

2LT Joseph Ruhl Distinguished himself for exceptionally meritorious service while performing duties as the Asst. S3 assigned to the 54th Theater Signal Battalion at Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq while in direct support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Upon arrival, Joe was immediately thrust into a battalion transitioning from a fixed garrison environment (Kuwait) to supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also selected to move immediately into Iraq as part of the battalion's
advanced party.

He has adapted effortlessly; his aggressive leadership style, demeanor and demonstrated capability were perfect for the situation. He is responsible for numerous service and satellite requests and was instrumental in establishing all actions necessary to bring various terminals as well as a microwave trunk on-line. His in-depth knowledge in circuit activations inspired the first Officer Professional Development (OPD) class given. 2LT Ruhl was hand selected to assist on establishing a battalion presence within the Intl. Zone, a task normally given to seasoned Lieutenants or Captains.

He demonstrated excellent leadership, management, and technical skills when he assumed command of the 519th Theater Signal Company for one month and ensured successful transition of the company as they moved from Kuwait to the Iraq. LT Ruhl was responsible for the accountability and safety of 24 soldiers and over 1 million dollars of equipment throughout 2 countries. He played a crucial role in establishing the first permanent communications presence.

Under his direction, the Outside/Inside support for communications was planned and implemented, and provides outstanding command, control, communication, and computer support to the US Government throughout Iraq, the U.S. Embassy Annex, Baghdad (Intl. Zone), 18 governate teams, and designated Multi-National Iraq units. The communications support allowed the commander, MNF-I to have effective command and control over soldiers throughout Iraq, and was pivotal to the success of combat operations. His outstanding performance of duty in a combat zone reflects great credit upon himself, the 54th Theater Signal Battalion, the 160th Signal Brigade, the 335th Theater Signal Command and the Multi National Forces Iraq Command.

Joseph is anxiously awaiting the next 3 months for his return to his wonderful wife, as well as his family and friends, who have all missed him immensely. He is a wonderful and caring person and is truly a Hometown Hero.

Great Product Testimonials!

I don't know who created our Cantaloupe Kiwi Body Wash, but it does something amazing! I remembered reading a testimony from one of the distributors awhile ago, regarding it. She said it had helped clear up her acne. I'll admit I was skeptical, because I have tried everything under the sun (including a lot of different prescriptions).

Well, recently my face broke out badly, so I decide to give the body wash a try. (I normally will only use face washes that are specific to helping acne.) Well, my face is again CLEAR!!!!! There must be some WONDERFUL product in there that helps clear up acne without drying the skin out! So, I just had to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

Sincerely,
Latisha Crubaugh, Bayville, NJ

I received my candles today. I unwrapped the box, pulled them out of their packaging, took a sniff...and was suddenly inspired to clean my house! So that's what I did. I tidied, vacuumed, scoured the kitchen and even scrubbed out some rug stains. When I was done, I lit my delicious new candles, put on some of my favorite music, and settled down to do my work. I've been basking in the atmosphere all afternoon.

Mia Bella candles are every bit as great as people say! I chose some "nature scents" as you know - the honeysuckle, clover and ocean breeze aromas. I am so excited, namely because they don't affect my chemical sensitivity in the least. Regular candles give me a headache and a "funny feeling" if I inhale them for too long with no ventilation. My friends burn scented candles at their get-togethers, and while I don't make an issue of it, I leave their houses feeling groggy and a little nauseous from the paraffin. Not so with Mia Bella!

I have the honeysuckle and clover burning right now, and my home is filled with such a wonderful, fresh scent. I can't tell you how delighted I am. Thanks again for introducing me to this fantastic product. It's so nice to have a healthy alternative! I will definitely be ordering more in the future.

I just recently enrolled as a Candle of the Month Distributor. I walked into work with my 12 candles and sold a total of nine:

  • 7 during the day here at work
  • 1 on my way out of work
  • 1 at school that evening

I've ordered another dozen of which four are already sold and I have a co-worker interested in doing a fundraiser for her daughter's soccer team. All a result of "smell and tell."

These candles do sell themselves.

Thank you!

Barb Hunter, Implements Mia Bella Candles into DJ Wedding Service!

wedding package sampleI own Hunter's Disc Jockey Services in London, Ontario. John MacFadden used to be one of our most requested Disc Jockeys (we have 15 DJ's). In the summer of 2004, John introduced me to the wonderful world of Mia Bella candles and I've been a Mia Bella distributor ever since!

We participate in several bridal shows each year. It's an excellent place to showcase the candles! We send out a letter with every wedding booking and inquiry and we also send follow-up info to all the girls that attend the shows. We recommend the votives as table favors and everyone loves them! We also provide "votive packs" as spot prizes for our DJ's gigs! They're always a hit!

Distributor of the Month: Heather Cataldo

heather cataldo and sonMy name is Heather Cataldo and I have been married to my husband Paul for 7 and 1/2 years. I am a stay at home mom to our 6 year old son Marc and 3 year old daughter Annalise.

I got started with Mia Bella Candles as a customer (probably like most of us) and fell in love with them right away. It was sort of funny the way it happened. I had a recipe night at my home and a friend came and saw that I had the"other candles" burning. She told me I should get rid of them and only burn soy or beeswax candles. She explained the difference in waxes to me and it made real sense. I threw all but one away just in case I was unable to find any non-parrafin candles.

Ironically, 2 weeks later another friend had called and invited me to a soy candle party. I was so excited, although I was unable to stay I met a great person whom is now my sponsor (Deb Clough). I purchased three candles and I was on my way. I burned them, fell in love and called Deb about 1 month later to find out how I could get them for a better price if I bought bulk. She signed me up for COTM and I was thrilled. I had no interest selling the candles or doing another network marketing business. To my surprise, all my friends wanted the candles, so I decided to give it a shot.

Here it was November 2004 and I jumped in with the cold crowd first because there were craft shows in my area that I could get into last minute. Being the holiday season I went for it, and I am glad I did! What a gem we hold! I not only did great retail-wise, but I had the busiest table in the place and other crafter's came to me to ask how they could sell the candles. From that show I sponsored my first two people. I was looking forward to the following show the next weekend.

Once December came my husband was actually the one who saw this huge potential first and just basically lifted me a bit and gave me a big kick in the butt. Now I am on to bigger ventures, doing home and garden shows, floral shows, and larger scale craft shows. Although these are awesome and you meet loads of great people, the good ole travel with a few cases in the car smell and sell works wonders also.

My husband now sells them in places like the car garage where we have the cars fixed, fast food places etc. Lastly we believe this is a great family business as well. Our children get excited when they see Manny (our fedex driver) because they know they can earn a little cash by putting all the stickers on mommy's and daddy's candles and brochures. They help pack up at craft fairs and larger shows and have a great time. What a great way to make great money and spend quality family time together!

Last but not least we would like to say thank you to the whole team at Scent-Sations. What a wonderful bunch of people! What a great feeling we have when we call and we know there are going to be people on the other end who do whatever it takes to make things happen. To the ones who put the effort forth for these awesome products, THANK YOU! from us and we're sure many many others. We're so proud to be part of it all.

-Heather, Paul, Marc Anthony, Annalise Cataldo
